Prianka Singapura M.D.
Dr. Prianka Singapura is thrilled
to join GICCPA. She grew up in Sugar Land, Texas before graduating cum laude
from the University of Texas at Austin where she dual-majored in Plan II Honors
and Biology. She completed her medical degree and Internal Medicine residency
at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After obtaining her Internal Medicine
board certification, Dr. Singapura completed a full spectrum gastroenterology
and hepatology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas,
including specialized training in liver transplantation, advanced procedures
such as luminal stents and ERCP, and reading motility studies.
Dr. Singapura has been
active in clinical research throughout her career. Some of her projects include
looking at TB testing in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, GI bleeding
in patients with implanted LVAD, and GFR estimating equations in end-stage
liver disease patients seeking dual organ transplantation.
Dr. Singapura has won
numerous awards during her training including the Outstanding Ambulatory Care
Award during residency and the Grand Prize for oral presentation at the annual
Baylor Research Conference. She is currently a member of TSGE, AGA, and AMA
Her current clinical
interests include motility disorders, biliary disease and women’s health. She
strives to give each patient an individualized experience through education and
shared patient-physician decision-making.
In her free time, Dr.
Singapura enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband,
daughter and dog. She is thrilled to be back in the Houston area, taking care
of patients in her hometown.
Procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, small bowel
enteroscopy, endoscopic feeding tube placement, ERCP, luminal stenting, high
resolution manometry, video capsule endoscopy
