BIOGRAPHY: TOJO THOMAS, M.D.
Dr. Thomas grew up in the Alief and Sugar Land areas. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University and graduated cum laude. After college he obtained his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After medical school he completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago. Dr. Thomas then returned to Dallas to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
While in residency Dr. Thomas participated in clinical research on online pre-procedural educational tools and novel therapies in Clostridium difficile. During fellowship he performed research focusing on the use of radiographic imaging in Crohn’s disease. During his fellowship Dr. Thomas also participated in the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundations of America’s month long visiting Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow Program at the University of Chicago, one of the country’s leading IBD centers. Dr. Thomas’ current clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer prevention, and hepatobiliary disorders.
Dr. Thomas is happy to be back in his hometown to begin his practice with Gastrointestinal Care Consultants, P.A.
